All about Your Nissan’s Engine Oil

October 21, 2009 | Posted by jcme

new carsOil is the lifeblood of any engine. Without it, the pistons and other parts of the engine heat up from the friction and your engine eventually seizes. For most people, this is the extent of their oil knowledge. Here are some more facts about motor oil so you can make more informed decisions when it concerns the engine in your Nissan cars.

• In addition to reducing friction, quality motor oil is also designed to rid your engine of harmful buildups and chemicals to keep the moving parts performing correctly. Oil also reduces exposure to oxygen to prevent oxidation at high temperatures.
• The numbers before and after the “W” on the oil grade refer to its changing characteristics during various temperatures. For instance, the lower the first number is, the easier it will be for the engine to turn over during the colder weather. If the second number is 40, for instance, it means the oil will not get thinner than a 40-rating when the weather is hot.
• Mineral oils are produced by using natural products that have been refined. Synthetic oils are made in laboratories with artificial products. You can mix both types, but it’s better to exclusively use one or the other.

Now that you know a little bit more about the motor oil for your Nissan, you can make a more informed decision about which one is best for your car.

Are we on the road to recovery?

October 16, 2009 | Posted by John Marazzi

That’s the question on most peoples mind right now. Listen to the cheerleaders on CNBC, and you’ll be convinced that we’ll be at a new all time high in the Dow in just a matter of months. Over at MSNBC, we’re told President Obama is just the man to fix the disastrous situation George W Bush got us in to. Click over to Fox news, and you’ll believe we’re heading for socialism, communism, and an end of capitalism.

I find it humorous listening to the agenda’s of all sides. They all have a position to sell, and it’s a daily reinforcement they deliver to there disciples. The reality of the situation is it’s any ones guess what our country is going to experience in the near turn. The direction our policy makers have decided to embrace is unprecedented in size and scope. What I can tell you is I don’t agree with it. Keynesian economics never dealt with a credit expansion, and excess liquidity as a cause of a previous downturn. Yes Keynesian theory can control economic cycles with money supply growth. But what we are experiencing now is banks hoarding cash and consumers are struggling with high debt and fear of losing their job. Printing trillions of dollars might feel good in the short term, but it doesn’t address the real fundamental problem. Money printing will lead to a much lower dollar and high inflation. It’s just a matter of when. What’s really happening is, banks aren’t lending because they don’t have to. They borrow at .25% from the fed, and buy Treasury debt at 3.5% with no risk. Banks are preparing for the upcoming wave of credit card and commercial loans that are just now beginning to default. The result, average consumers can’t get credit at reasonable terms.

I am writing this blog October 11, 2009 at 4:45pm 30,000 feet up in the air on my way to Las Vegas. Why is that relevant? I’m glad you asked. It’s obvious that I believe that credit will continue to be a problem. I think our economy will continue to struggle with high unemployment, I believe our economy in general will struggle as we embrace this new normal. Many people classify themselves as either an optimist or a pessimist. I consider myself a realist. I’m heading to Vegas to attend a ground breaking new program to help consumers purchase automobiles without fear of being turned down for credit. My partner and I are researching a solution to help folks in South west Florida obtain reasonable credit regardless of recent financial problems. Two to three out of every ten people in our area may eventually fall victim to foreclosure over the next year or so. I’m working on a way to allow them to still buy a new or pre-owned vehicle and get the credit and terms they deserve.

So yes, I will take one for the team and spend three days in Vegas. I’ll partake in no blackjack, alcohol, or buffets. (OK maybe just a little).

Over the next weeks I’ll be working hard on this new venture and I look forward to sharing the details with you.

If you’ve been looking for the perfect car that says “practicality” and “style” in one vehicle, look no further than the 2009 Nissan Maxima. The 2009 Nissan Maxima has been on the market for awhile and it’s one of the most popular models offered by the Japanese automaker. Here are some things you will definitely enjoy about the 2009 Maxima.

• Nissan’s 3.5-liter V6 engine pumps out almost 300 horsepower (290 to be exact) while still providing a decent fuel economy of 19 miles per gallon around the city and 26 mpg on the highway.

Nissan Moves Toward Collision-Free Roadways

October 9, 2009 | Posted by jcme

floridaWouldn’t it be nice to drive where you need to go without the fear of getting into a collision? That’s they type of vehicles that Nissan is working on and engineers at the automaker’s headquarters have created a technology that could make this happen.

Using the same idea used within a school of fish, Nissan engineers have created a technology that keeps cars from running into each other eve when they are in close proximity to each other. Nissan introduced the new feature at the CEATEC fair in Japan earlier this month.

The device used in the technology is called the Eporo. It uses three main concepts used in schools of fish to keep them from bumping into each other. Those concepts are: Collision Avoidance, Approaching and Traveling Side-by-Side. When in schools, fish know their surroundings and they have the ability to avoid bumping into each other based on their senses. Nissan is using a laser range finder to mimic that sense so cars on the roads can avoid hitting each other in much the same way.

Nissan is excited that this is the “world’s first development of a robot car that can travel in a group by sharing the position and information of others within a group via communication technologies.”

While this technology may be a few years away, you can still visit your Naples, FL area Nissan dealer for a deal on a car with the latest safety features in the industry today!

Improve Your Vehicles Ride and the Life of Your Tires with Nitrogen

October 8, 2009 | Posted by John Marazzi

tire nitrogenMost tires are filled with compressed air, which when dry consists of about 78 percent nitrogen, 21 percent oxygen, and 1 percent other gases by volume. Water vapor (humidity) can make up as much as 5 percent of the volume of air under worst-case conditions. Filling your tires with nitrogen mainly does two things: it eliminates moisture, and it replaces skinny oxygen molecules with fat nitrogen molecules, reducing the rate at which compressed gas diffuses through porous tire walls. That means, theoretically at least, that a tire filled with nitrogen retains optimal pressure longer, leading to more uniform tire wear and better gas mileage. The commonly quoted figure is that tires inflated to 32 psi get 3 percent better mileage than at 24 psi.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has seen reduced aging of tires filled with nitrogen. The safety benefits often include the potential for reducing air loss compared to an air-filled tire. Maintaining proper inflation can help prevent tire overheating; promote optimum tread life; and reduce rubber aging and wheel corrosion. The use of nitrogen in large truck fleets and the commercial tire industry are well documented and support these

This month, John Marazzi Nissan Insiders will recieve a coupon for a $9.99 Nitrogen Service. Sign up here to get yours.

September (a bit wordy, but please read it anyway;) Accomplishments

October 5, 2009 | Posted by John Marazzi

Hello Gang,
September was a challenging month for the auto industry. The Cash for Clunkers hangover had its grip on most dealers. The trick was to see it coming early on, adapt and overcome.

I am proud to say that even though most auto manufacturers were down, John Marazzi Nissan was up 40% over last year. We once again took the number one spot in Southwest Florida against Sutherlin and Harbor Nissan and we moved into the #15 spot Nationwide!

This past weekend we saw our 200th IMA sign up. Although many of our IMAs are not actively participating in the program, the ones that are have managed to put some nice incremental income in their pockets.

This September we had four of our IMAs score with a referral that purchased a new or used vehicle with us. We had; Kerry, Angela, Donna, and for the second month in a row Ivan put $250 in the hip.

We are now moving into season in Southwest Florida and we know based on last year that we will have a tremendous opportunity to increase our market share. The next four months or so will be critical to every area business. We must not waste even one opportunity to attract a new customer or WOW a loyal one.

So keep your ears and eyes open for anyone who could be in the market for a new or used car. We promise to give them an incredible experience, excellent service during and after the sale.

Let’s make this the very best month for the IMA program yet! Our goal is to sell eight IMA referrals in October. Get in the game and get paid!

Tray Bournazian named Top Salesperson for Month of September at John Marazzi Nissan of Naples

October 5, 2009 | Posted by John Marazzi

Naples, FL – October 3, 2009 – Tray Bournazian has been named top “Salesperson of the Month” for September 2009 at John Marazzi Nissan of Naples. Bournazian started working for John Marazzi while he was still at Ft. Myers Toyota. He has aspirations of being a sales manager and is well on his way. He loves his job and excels in his product knowledge. He particularly enjoys interactions with his customers and building strong customer relationships that last. When his happy customers drive their new car off the lot, Bournazian is a happy man.

Bournazian speaks fluent American Sign Language. His parents were deaf, and sign language was his first language. Even as a child, he was the person they relied on to know when someone was at the door or calling on the telephone. He translated their words in every communication with the outside hearing world. He especially admires his parents because they had so many obstacles to overcome—yet they raised 13 responsible children and taught them to work hard and excel every day in what they do. Facing life’s obstacles with strength and determination is an important lesson that he is passing on to his own three sons.

John Marazzi and the entire team at John Marazzi Nissan congratulate Tray Bournazian on a job well done!

John Marazzi Nissan is located at 3640 Pine Ridge Rd., in Naples, FL, one block west of I-75 at Exit 107. For more information, contact Tray Bournazian at 239-247-9487 or visit http://www.johnmarazzinissan.com/asl.htm
